EPW - Alexander Guillaume, London, keyless lever, 54mm, heavy 18K gold original HC bearing London hallmarks for 1870, incuse "H B" casemaker's marking, front with initials, gold cuvette engraved "James Laughlin Jr., April 4th 1871.," white enamel SS dial, SW-pin-set, fully capped lever escapement, 19J, gilt mvt, s#2/6310 with corresponding s#6310 within case. Gross weight of assembled watch 92.7 dwt (144.1 g).
CONDITION:
Mvt: Running, fine cosmetic mvt condition overall, long fine scratch crossing entirety of main plate running between stem detent screw and center arbor, curved scratch near third wheel jewel setting, ultra-fine scratch striations to main plate likely from past wiping; dial with hls outside seconds-register between 5 and 7; excellent hands; case shows medium wear, some nicks to band, reduced engine turning detail with full loss through front and rear shoulders, lift springs allowing front to tip a small bit toward closed with gravity; tight bow thinned at top, crown shows ample wear; good glass crystal.
